What are the struggles with standard fall protection rope?

Standard fall protection rope is woven polyester blend roughly 5/8" thick. There are many issues with using a polyester blend rope that can be solved by using a high-quality rope such as this.

• One problem many have had with 5/8" polyester blend rope occurs when it is stepped on. There is no give which tends to create one to slip or roll off the rope causing a dangerous situation (especially if carrying solar panels when this occurs). 
• After extended use, polyester blend rope tends to fray from continued movement on asphalt shingle roofs. Fraying then leads to difficulty sliding the fall protection equipment up and down the rope. 

What set's this rope apart?

The Teufelberger rope is 7/16" thick, almost a 1/4" thinner, making it less obstructive if stepped on while walking on the roof. Not only is it a smaller rope, it is also specially designed with an outer sheath and stranded inner core, so this rope will not roll under your feet. It is designed to flatten out when pressure is applied, almost eliminating the dangerous slippage that can occur with standard fall protection rope.

Teufelberger KM III is certified EN 1891A and NFPA 1983:2012. It is equipped with a core of nylon and a cover of polyester. This polyester cover is robust and ideal for solar installers since it features a very good grip. Therefore, the solar installer can move up the rope without the bounce one usually encounters on an all-nylon rope. The polyester cover is perfectly balanced with the nylon core to limit rotation, recoil, and stretch. The rope construction of the KM III with its 32-strand cover provides for an optimum cover/core ratio ensuring an extraordinarily smooth cover, higher tensile strength values, and excellent handling.
